Minnow Hole 10/18/2010
Went out to the minnow hole today at 5:45pm saw plenty of salmon jumping and rolling when I arrived Started throwing my usual "Mepps Flying C" first pink then in Chartreuse for the first 15 minutes decided to change to a blue with chartreuse blade and 2nd cast fish on 16lbs hen. Till my next run at the salmon later next week.

Sac River/Minnow hole 10/16/2012
I went out to the minnow hole this morning and for the first hour
nothing across the board then I change spots and first cast barn fish on
it starts running so I set the hook and set it again trying to turn it
around and it’s still running I look down at my reel and hey what do you
know I’m all most out of line so I tighten the drag just slightly turn
the crank 2 times and snap it’s gone. I reel up and it snapped my leader
that I had just put on with new 25lbs PLine. I have changed my set-up
and first loss this year.

Right Place + Right Time
I have found that if your at the right place at the right time you will hook yourself a salmon. This is my first year fishing for salmon and to say the least I'm hooked real good. The more time you put your line in the water the better your chances are, so I go every chance I get. Sometime its just for 1 hour, but for the most part I'll spend 2-3 hours a trip being the river is just around the corner from my house. Today I fished for about 1 1/2 hours with no bites or hook-ups. I'll be at it again in the morning tomorrow, so if your out fishing for chrome stop by and say "hi".
